A Bit Of History

in Akron, Ohio.

Papa Joe's is open seven days a week for dinner and Monday through Friday for lunch starting at 11:00 a.m. Join us throughout 2012, as we celebrate 80 years of serving the greater Akron area. From the early days of The Florentine Grill to present day of Papa Joe's, we are grateful for your loyalty and generosity.

The Iacomini Family first opened their doors in 1932. The heart and soul has been “Papa Joe” Iacomini who passed away in 1998. Those who have gazed into his steel blue eyes, or have watched him tour his restaurants, always searching for ways to improve, know why the Iacomini Family has always been considered the first family of fine and traditional dining in the Akron area.

Joe’s legacy lives on with the fourth generation of restaurateurs. Judy, his daughter, and her son Jeff, and daughter Kim, continue to try and live up to his standards of excellence. This trio of new culinarians continues to bring you “The Best of Iacomini’s!”

2012 marks 80 years of serving the Akron area. From the early days of the Florentine Grill, to present day at Papa Joe’s, we say thank you, and to your grandparents, for dining at our restaurants.
